Description
Requested by Brad Joyce 37, this scene depicts an early winters morning at Greenholme, as one of Virgin Train's Class 390 Pendolino units is seen tilting for the curve as it careens up Shap with a train from London Euston to Glasgow Central.
If you had told an LMS steam engine driver in the 1930's and 40's that one day in the not too distant future there'd be electric trains that could smash the harsh incline at a steady 125mph whilst their steam locomotives struggled to make 20mph, they'd think you were totally balmy!
Two days of color graphing and harsh painting has resulted in what I personally consider my best work for the time being.
