Arriving from Florence is BA CityFlyer Embraer ERJ-190SR (ERJ-190-100 SR) G-LCYT, delivered in May 2014 under serial number 19000670.
British Airways CityFlyer was formed from the ashes of BA's former regional division BA Connect, which was bought by regional carrier Flybe in 2007, but didn't include their operations into London City Airport. These services, and the associated 10 Bae-146 Avroliner aircraft that were assigned to operate them, were amalgamated into the rebirth of former Gatwick-based operater CityFlyer Express, British Airways' first franchise based subsidiary that operated between 1991 and 2000. BA CityFlyer was awarded an Air Operators Certificate on 8th February, 2007, and started operations on March 25th of the same year.
Since then, the airline has opened a contract with Embraer to provide the airline with a modernised fleet of ERJ regional jetliners to replace the original 10 Bae-146's, the last of which was retired from use in June 2010. Today the airline operates 6 E-170's for domestic use and 11 E-190's for international services.
