1988 Alfa Romeo 75

Not the prettiest Alfa Romeo ever built, but still a good car all the same. Many are not familiar with this car due to its obscure nature, but it was indeed a heavy seller, scoring big in the first three years with 236,000 cars built, with an eventual full construction number of 386,000 during its 1985 to 1992 lifespan.

The 75 was also the last Alfa Romeo to be built before the company was acquired by FIAT in 1986, although the Alfa Romeo 164 was in development.

The 75 featured some unusual technical features, most notably the fact that it was almost perfectly balanced from front to rear. This was achieved by using transaxle schema — mounting the standard five-speed gearbox in the rear connected to the rear differential.
